Guy Fawkes Night

An excuse to have a dinner party and play with some fireworks.... also a very effective method of cleaning up the house before guests come. Who would have thought that ppl might be exchanging recipes that night too...

It is unfortunate that I was not able to upload some of the candid videos i took on that cold windy night. We all had lots of suspense and tense moments just trying to light up our matches and sparkles. Huddling together to create wind breakers didn't help too much either. Thankfully, Marie and Geoff bought extra long sparklers which did help.

Someone mentioned that the pics of the fireworks would make good desktop pictures(??) ... so I thought I might as well upload it here just in case someone might want to upload them

Upon a last minute decision, I followed two friends kayaking up North of Auckland. Tessie was visiting Auckland for 2 weeks from Sydney. Since she has been itching to kayak and it was a beautiful weekend, Marv and her decided it was today or never.

Here are some pics from the trip. Thanks goodness I was the camera person, no one manage to get shots of me crashing into the low branches...

Hi All,
Its Auckland Day and we decided not to waste the last long weekend we were to have for another 3 months.

Here are some pics from our day trip to Long Bay- 20 mins from my home. We arrived at about 11ish; had lunch, spent some time making another sand sculpture (with our feet) and then went for a walk up around a farm near by... got a pic of the cows by the cliff to prove it

Oh! and for memories sake, I have also entered a pic of Marie giving Geoff, his "Star Burst" edible engagement ring. They got engaged a week ago. Congratulations guyz!

Well well well, someone got older and maybe a little wiser, though you may doubt it when you see these pictures.

Yesterday was Alex's (one of my badminton club mates) birthday (29th Jan). Janet, his wife had prepared a birthday feast for him and so here we are all together to celebrate his one year left before reaching the big "3" "0".

There were, of course the food, the catch up and (what party would there be without) the famous Bambi's board games. We played Rapiddough, which I had failed to capture images of some artistic masterpieces. However I did manage to catch some improvised charade version of the game. We definitely had a blast!!

I hope this was one memorable birthday for you, Alex!

Spent the weekend in Piha with Marie and Geoff. The trip was organised by Priscilla as part of her birthday celebration. Thank you Pris!
What a blessed girl she was too! This is one of the very few summer-like weekends we have had so far this season!!

PS: Geoff, I hope you have some really good pictures on your camera. Some of mine got corrupted including all the cool silent movies I took!!

What I could not fit into a week, was crammed into a day in Whananaki. My lack of annual leave days had prevented me from joining the Biddles in Whananaki for an entire week between the Christmas 04 and New Year 05 weekend. However, thanks to the the generousity of their parents and the good fortune that Uncle Roger and Aunty Suzy were planning to make a day trip up North, I became their one day happy free rider

So, here are some photos taken that Tuesday.

Heres some pictures from my third ski trip up. Unfortunately, weather wasn't so kind. we ended up just skiing for half a day that weekend.

However, it gave us some good bonding time with Social Circle and Pictionary back at the chalet.

Here are some pictures of us making the Twin Towers morphed into a Giant A (with horns) at the ski fields

Second Ski trip

and no, we didn't give those instant noodles to Strawberry.
We are going up the mountain, here we come...

More pictures from my second trip up the slopes. (Mount Ruapehu- Turoa). The owners of the chalet had a pet pig named Strawberry and she eats everything and anything. And fortunately for her, we had much to give as we didn't want to take any food back to Auckland. She sure is one lucky pig!

You'll find more pictures of the snow fields this time as the weather was much better.
